Best Cookies Ever
Cookies might be my favorite dessert, and these are not your average ones. The browned butter adds this deep, nutty, almost toffee-like richness that completely transforms the dough. Pair that with dark chocolate chips and a finish of flaky salt and you've got a cookie that earns its reputation. Fun fact: chocolate chip cookies were invented by accident in 1938 when Ruth Wakefield chopped up a chocolate bar expecting it to melt into the dough and it didn't, and a legend was born. Chill your dough, bake it to your liking, and finish with flaky salt.

Start by browning your butter. In order to do so, place a saucer on medium heat and place the stick of butter inside. Stir occasionally until the milk contents in the butter start solidifying and dropping to the bottom, as well as when the butter turns a bit brown. Be careful not to burn it since you have a minute to take it off the heat. Once done, remove from the heat and place in the fridge to cool down a bit.

In a bowl, place eggs, vanilla extract, brown and white sugar, and mix thoroughly. Add the melted butter and mix.

3
In a separate bowl, place the flour, baking soda, and salt. Once done, add the dry mixture to the wet mixture and fold it in until no flour is left.

4
Pour in your favorite chocolate chips or crush up some chocolate bars and add them in there. I personally prefer dark chocolate chips (72%) since they balance the sweetness coming from the dough.

5
Make medium cookie-sized balls and place in a pan and into the fridge for an hour or overnight. This helps the flavors blend.
-
6
Preheat oven to 350 F/175 C.
-
7
Place cookies in oven for 9-13 minutes, depending on how toasty or light you prefer your cookies. I do recommend you try a couple of cookies before committing to the whole batch.
